Motion Graphics - Capacity.tv

This one is an interesting set of graphics from the United States. The company created a brand for the TV network, Cartoon Network, and they used a simple stand CGI model which is then altered into several characters from the channel's programing. Every ident and piece of continuity is used with CGI animation, while the characters have a flat look on their 3D bodies. There are some moments where they have the skin (material) from the character taken away and into the form of a paint blob. the music and sounds try to give this look a virtual, videogame style tone.

The look only lasted a short while, but it is a interesting look at how much 3D modelling was put into it, and how they managed to animating everything from water-like motions, to morphing the character's looks and colour, as well as mixing a 2-D skin to a 3D body of the character.

Motion Graphics - Partizan

Here's an interesting sequence made from the animation company "Partizan".
This was suggested as a Credit reel for the movie "The Adventures of TinTin".

The sequence highlights all the characters, backgrounds and main points from the original series, and the film itself, just by using a circle in the middle of the screen, which changes shape on the spot, referring to the character or scene. There is a lot of transformation between the characters, which is done by a lot of animating to give that shape-shifting look. A lot of other examples have that this similar form of animation. Its a clever technique on how you can bring more life and imagination when adapting a book, a film, etc. Even though this is not in the original film, and is only a short opening/end credit sequence, it is still a clever and imaginative form of animation, highlighting the cast, the crew and giving a summary of the series and film story.

Motion Graphics - LIQUID \ tv

Liquid is a creative agency, that produce a lot of different content in the United Kingdom. Some of which are made with motion graphics. A lot of content they've produced have are visual effects, channel branding and opening titles for Television shows.

One good example is the opening titles for The Loop. it has a lot of 3D imagery and motion graphics moving across the screen, like the big circle of screens, which show a visual effect of hands, linking to each other creating making a loop which relates to the title and the show's premise. There are also moments were words are blinking on the screen, which are animated onto the screen to show more of the gaming premise of the show, with the red color scheme to question if a contestant a trustworthy or not. A lot of movement and camera angles occur in the graphics, which want to make the audience interested in watching the series, and understand the basic rules of the game. The show may not be around to this day, but it has an interesting set of computer animation and graphics.

Motion Graphics Companies - Yeti Motion Graphics

Yeti Motion Graphics is a company run by Chris Johnstone, who works in Animation, Graphics and Art Direction in the United Kingdom. He has worked in many television companies and advertising brands like Nike, Turner Broadcasting and Sky.

Many of his work have been created from different forms of media. In his recent showreel, there is a mixture of 2D animation and 3D graphics to give life and character for the purpose of what they are promoting. in an example, the segments for the international children's channel "Boing" uses a series of characters that would turn red and eventually bounce or react in a silly manner, which represents what appeals to the target audience the channel is aiming for. these segments in particular use 2D and 3D graphics to create a colorful and humorous world of animation and scenery to grab the attention of the young viewing audience and to promote any programming or a events associated with the channel. In another example, there are a few digital graphics used on photo imagery, to make them look like a series of newspaper characters in a stop-motion animation.

It shows that you can bring an idea to life in any form of media used.

Motion Graphics Companies - Mammoth

Mammoth Graphics Ltd are a company that work in interactive social media, and live/motion graphics, and is based is several parts of England. They have created graphics for many events that are shown on the BBC, ITV and Channel 5 in the United Kingdom. The company uses a range of 3D software to create any form of graphic material to grab the attention of the viewer.

Last year, Mammoth Graphics were the provider for BBC's coverage of the London 2012 Olympics. The graphics they created were used for live feed coverage of the sports and social media. The company developed a new product for the graphics called Kinetrak. Kinetrak would detect human movements which can be controlled and manipulated into live graphics. Other studios from the company worked on graphics for parts of the coverage and the BBC's red button service. The colors and visuals help give a clear view of the highlighted footage and the attention of the viewer watching the coverage, and finding the information on the competitors and countries they are from. With the London 2012 theme created beforehand, and visuals of London's trademark landscapes, this is an impressive set of graphics that the company have made as part to celebrate one of Britain major events.

Motion Graphics Companies - Mainframe motion shop

Mainframe is a UK-based motion graphics company in London. They specialise in creating 3D animation and Visual Effects for advertisements and television clients, e.g. Comedy Central, Turner Broadcasting, BBC, etc. Their earlier projects show a mixture of flat 2D animation blended with full motion 3D graphics, with a full blend of colour and texturing.

In this example, Mainframe created a new brand for the television network Boomerang, which was launched in 2012. the brand uses a series of 3D visuals and realistic background imagery, while the channel logo is made up of a special spline tool to give it a rubbery characteristic. the animation shows the Boomerang logo/ribbon move around several places in the universe, like from outer space to under water, and interacting with any characters that block its path. Other objects and additional characters, such as the space alien and planets below, are created in 3D graphics, but some are have a flat 2D look. The idea is to give the characters a cartoon personality to blend the brand with the programming broadcasting on the network, while the backgrounds made up of photo imagery give the brand a realistic feel. It shows a mix of 2D and 3D that makes this an entertaining and interesting piece of Motion Graphics.
