Motion Graphics - PixelBurn

Another interesting company that have produced HD quality graphics are PixelBurn, a company based in London. They've worked for different areas, from promotional content to informative films. They've produced many projects for clients such as Cartoon Network and HMV, as well as working for game/films trailers like Championship Manager and The Kingmaker.

Their showreel is example of many different graphics and animation they've created. Some examples show mix of live-action with effects blended in, while others are fully rendered CGI with 2D graphics. whatever audience they're targeting at, this company knows how to make an appealing mix of motion graphics, while also promoting the product.

Motion Graphics - O-Motion

O-motion is one of many companies to produce animation and graphics in high quality. Based in Brighton, they've collaborated with many well-known brands, like the BBC, Toyota and Emirates, and have worked for over 12 years designing, making and animating graphics to be viewed in many areas.
One of their examples is for what they drafted for Sky Sports News, which shows off a colourful and creative look at how the channel is approved with High-Definition graphics and quality. There's a mix of colour that reflects to the channel's logo, and a set of lights beaming around certain areas. Even though O-Motion only made the concepts and story-boarding for this, they clearly gave an appealing idea on how a station can make use of technology when it is up to date.

Motion Graphics - The Smart Party

The Smart Party are specialists at using 2D and 3D for creating graphics and animation, based in .
Many of their examples have been created for broadcasting and corporations, and developing new ideas for both areas. In the past, they created works for advertisements, opening credits for tv shows, and various other snippets for events in the United Kingdom. according to their website, they provide everything in production and such, including concepts, scripting, the animation and editing.

In this example, we have a sting they made as part of a competition for the British Animation Awards (or BAA). Here, they've used the idea of the BAA logo, and made it into a character. You don't actually see the character until the camera zooms out, and reveals the entire character and the rest of the scene. The sting is a 2D motion graphic, where a sheep is just minding its own business, in the bad weather. But it all builds up to a humorous ending when the weather changes. While the pink background color clashes a little with the character (especially as the sheep has no outline in this short), it's a nicely animated segment which relates well to the  event they've made it for, and the possible mascot that it's part of.

Motion Graphics - Capacity.tv

This one is an interesting set of graphics from the United States. The company created a brand for the TV network, Cartoon Network, and they used a simple stand CGI model which is then altered into several characters from the channel's programing. Every ident and piece of continuity is used with CGI animation, while the characters have a flat look on their 3D bodies. There are some moments where they have the skin (material) from the character taken away and into the form of a paint blob. the music and sounds try to give this look a virtual, videogame style tone.

The look only lasted a short while, but it is a interesting look at how much 3D modelling was put into it, and how they managed to animating everything from water-like motions, to morphing the character's looks and colour, as well as mixing a 2-D skin to a 3D body of the character.

Motion Graphics - Partizan

Here's an interesting sequence made from the animation company "Partizan".
This was suggested as a Credit reel for the movie "The Adventures of TinTin".

The sequence highlights all the characters, backgrounds and main points from the original series, and the film itself, just by using a circle in the middle of the screen, which changes shape on the spot, referring to the character or scene. There is a lot of transformation between the characters, which is done by a lot of animating to give that shape-shifting look. A lot of other examples have that this similar form of animation. Its a clever technique on how you can bring more life and imagination when adapting a book, a film, etc. Even though this is not in the original film, and is only a short opening/end credit sequence, it is still a clever and imaginative form of animation, highlighting the cast, the crew and giving a summary of the series and film story.

Motion Graphics - LIQUID \ tv

Liquid is a creative agency, that produce a lot of different content in the United Kingdom. Some of which are made with motion graphics. A lot of content they've produced have are visual effects, channel branding and opening titles for Television shows.

One good example is the opening titles for The Loop. it has a lot of 3D imagery and motion graphics moving across the screen, like the big circle of screens, which show a visual effect of hands, linking to each other creating making a loop which relates to the title and the show's premise. There are also moments were words are blinking on the screen, which are animated onto the screen to show more of the gaming premise of the show, with the red color scheme to question if a contestant a trustworthy or not. A lot of movement and camera angles occur in the graphics, which want to make the audience interested in watching the series, and understand the basic rules of the game. The show may not be around to this day, but it has an interesting set of computer animation and graphics.
